What a fantastic ending to an exciting term! The children represented the school brilliantly in both the Y3/4 and Y5/6 Indoor Athletics finals at the Cornwall School Games. We came second in both competitions and the standards of all the athletes was incredibly high. They all represented the school so well – thank you! A thank you also to Jack, Mali and Will in Y6 who have really shown a high level of organisation, motivation and tenacity in their fundraising this week, raising money towards Shelterbox and Youth Sport. The week ended in a tie break ‘Guess the sweets in the jar’ where 5 children were challenged to be the first to eat (and swallow) marshmallows – well done Ollie in Y3 – you were really quite impressive!! The boys raised a fantastic £160 – well done and thank you.
On the website you will also find examples of the Y2 learning on the Great Fire of London, Year 5 DT projects, as well as the PTFA celebrations of Easter!
We also have to say a massive thank you to Tescos! Our PTFA and PALS have been busy making Easter Nests for every single one of our children! Tescos have generously donated all the ingredients to make this small but significant end of term gift possible.
Thank you to you all for all your support and positivity in our school community. I know how much the staff appreciate this and it really does make such a difference.
I hope you all have a restful and enjoyable Easter break.

SAFETY AT THE START AND END OF THE SCHOOL DAY
As now we enter the summer term, please reinforce to your child how important road safety is as more children are walking to coming to school on scooters or bikes. We have had a couple of incidents this week where children are unsupervised and haven’t been safe on the pavements and roads around school and this is really worrying.
The gates DO NOT open before 8:30am, so please do not arrive on school grounds before this time. If your child is walking to school, please ensure that they do not arrive before 8:30am, as they are not supervised.
HELPING THE PLANET
Jake in Year 6 is collecting used batteries, energy saving light bulbs and INKJET cartridges to recycle. There is a collection box in the school office. Do your bit to help the planet! Thank you.
