Where learning is fuelled by creativity

Newsletter 26.03.21

26th March 2021 in Newsletters

With only a few more days until Easter, our children are making the most out of every learning opportunity. We have had clay, PE with Mr Parker from Richard Lander, fascinating animal learning in Years 1 and 2 and much, much more. Well done to all those who had assessments this week, you all showed amazing resilience. Next week, we will be planning events for the Summer Term, in the hope that we will be able to do many things which make our children’s time at Primary school so special. We know that it has been tough for them in this last year, we want to make the end of this academic year so special.

On Saturday, it is World Earth hour – at 8.30pm. This is where all around the world, we are encouraged to work together as a world team and turn off all electrical devices for an hour. Please see the link here for more details www.earthour.org

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend – enjoy the fresh air and hopefully some sun!

Ms Teagle

End of term – Thursday 1st April

School finishes at 1.15pm on this day – A reminder that there will be no Pebbles or Bibbles after school childcare provision. There will also be no Study club sessions on the last day of term.

Free School Meals – Easter Holiday Provision

Our local authority has once again provided funding to facilitate Free School Meal provision (for those in receipt of benefits related Free School Meals) over the holidays. We will use the WONDE platform and they will be issued electronically via email early next week. The vouchers will be valued at £30 per eligible child to cover the two week holiday period.

FOODBANK use over EASTER holiday

Truro Foodbank have contacted the school to say that they are able to do a food delivery of a package to cover breakfast and lunch, containing items such as longlife milk, cereal, tinned meat, beans, pasta, tinned fruit, biscuits and fruit juice. If you are worried about finances and how to feed your family over the Easter Holidays, please do not hesitate to contact the school and we can give your number to the Foodbank. This is a wonderful charity. Please make use of the offer if you are anxious, and also, please donate if you are able to: times are really challenging for lots of families in our community.

Easter Books for EYFS

A big thank you to The Emmanuel Full Gospel International, for donating some Easter books to the all children in our EYFS classes and also a collection of books for the school library.

RESIDENTIAL CAMPS

Unfortunately and predictably, there will be no residential camps this summer. All refunds have started to be processed, but they may take some time – Miss Hawken is on it!

Big Pedal – 19th – 30th April 2021

Big Pedal 2021! Coming up, straight after the Easter holidays, is this years Big Pedal challenge. This year the event will run for 10 school days, between 19th and 30th of April and will look to encourage as many of you as possible to ‘get your fitness on!’ TMS will be entering a national competition between schools to see how many active journeys to school we can clock in these 10 days! Active journeys can be anything from biking to cartwheeling to school (sounds a bit too dizzy for me!). In school we will be completing daily exercises and journeys around the school area – some on wheels, some as challenges and others with a bit of twist… Teachers will log active journeys daily and we will be able to upload these to the National competition!
