Where learning is fuelled by creativity

28th May 2021 in Newsletters

What an end to an amazing half term! The children have worked so hard over the last 7 weeks, with their learning, and on our TMS rules, they have fully deserved our whole school SUPERNOVA DAY as our Galaxy Balls had reached the top! A massive well done to everyone involved – a real team effort!

And to top it all, a ‘Parkour and Stunt show’, won again, by our amazing children for their healthy approach to living and to transport, celebrated by Sustrans. Thank you to Nick and Brian for wholeheartedly supporting our school and giving us the opportunity to learn about healthy living.  It was absolutely incredible – such talented individuals!

This week we have also had the Fire Brigade out to work with Year 2s on The Great Fire of London, Year 6 have been making soup in DT, our RSHE curriculum has been prominent across the whole school with everyone learning about the importance of appropriate relationships. What a week!

Today, the year 5s found out which class teacher they will have next year: Miss Bryant, Mr Wake or Miss Bowen. As always, they will be on the doors in the morning and would love to say hello, if they have not met you yet. We are really fortunate to be able to split the year 6s into 3 classes and the 3 teachers will continue to work closely as they have done in previous years, ensuring that all children have equity of learning opportunities across the curriculum.

Everyone now needs a well deserved break over the half term. Please make sure that you rest, recuperate and have fun with those closest to you.

Please take care and have fun!

Ms Teagle

THANK-YOUS!

Mrs Davies – you have given so many of our children a wonderful start to their life at TMS. We wish you every happiness in your new challenge. All those new families in hospital will be lucky to have you as you support them in starting their new lives together in your new role in midwifery.

Mrs Pascoe – WOW! THIRTY years. You have supported so many children, families and staff over your time with us. There are so many fond memories we have of spending time with you, and you will always have a special place in our hearts. Mrs Pascoe, thank you for all you have given to TMS.

2021-2022

Thank you for those families who shared with us their thoughts about the proposed timings for the school day. There was an overwhelming positive response in favour of the new timings, with the only concern being that it is too close to the pandemic to intensify the number of people on site. We will, of course, work within the Government guidelines and if there are further concerns identified due to the pandemic, then we will inform families and we will retain the same hours as we have now.

If everything is on track, Threemilestone School will open at 8.30, with learning starting at 8.45. In the afternoon, learning will end at 3.00 and between 3.00 and 3.15, children will be collected. Clubs will be running across year groups and will end at 4.00.

Clubs after half term

Clubs will run from 7th June until 8th July – 5 weeks. They will have the same format as this half term -being led by both class teachers and having the theme of a general sports focus which changes every week.

Please can you confirm your child’s attendance by filling in the Google Form for this 5 week opportunity: https://forms.gle/ESJhJRFwMfv1U82n9

Monday –  Year 1 sports (Miss Grubb, Mrs Murt), Year 4 sports (Miss Body, Mrs Brown), Year 5 sports (Mr Rutterford, Mr Wake)

Parent Help

If anyone within our TMS community has some knowledge/ expertise of bikes and has some time to spare, we would really appreciate some help with maintenance on some of our EYFS bikes. Please get in touch with us in the office for further details.

Allergy Advice

We would like to remind parents that we have students across several year groups who are allergic to different foods or food groups. Reactions range from mild to life threatening. Included in one of those allergies is NUT and the school follows a nut free policy whenever possible. Parents who send a packed lunch from home for their child are free to pack the foods of their choice but it is our hope that families CHOOSE not to send foods containing nuts.

Lifewise

This week we have been focusing on our RSHE curriculum and relationships. Our normal Lifewise topics paused during this week and we will resume these again after half term.
