The Pop-Up Primary Orchestra
The Pop Up Primary Orchestra met and gave a short informal concert this week at Threemilestone.
Children from all different primary schools in the Truro area (TMS, Perranporth, Cusgarne, Mithian, St Agnes, St Marys, Bosvigo, Tregolls and Perranworthal) meet twice a term to play together in an orchestra. This time the orchestra met at Threemilestone and year 2 were invited in for the final performance of the year.
The performance started with the conductor of the orchestra, explaining what all the different instruments were and what they sounded like. We heard cornets, trumpets, trombones, a xylophone, violins, flutes and a clarinet. Patrick, the conductor, was playing the accordian and Mrs Browning (who brings the orchestra together) was joining the violin section.
The orchestra played two pieces ‘Boscowan street Blues’ and (a school favourite) The Wellerman.
Some of the children from Threemilestone play in the orchestra and it was great to see Lottie and Charlotte playing with the orchestra.
