Where learning is fuelled by creativity

EYFS – Week beginning 1st October 2018

10th October 2018 in Early Years

We started the week with a visit from  a tttttturtle and a tttttortoise which really helped us with learning all about t. We also cut up toast with knives and forks (to help us with using cutlery at lunchtime), used tweezers, practised writing t, decorated tortoises, drew stripes on tigers, made tea in the water tray and played with trucks, tractors and trains. After we had done some weighing with turnips, we made and ate turnip soup – YUM!

We have also learned all about i this week.

In our maths lessons this week we have been practising counting really carefully . We have made a plan that it is much easier to count carefully if we put the things that we are counting in a line and then touch each item, as we say the number. We are also practising saying the total at the end: “1 2 3 4 5 things – that is 5 altogether”.

We had a great time on Rockstar Day and the children looked amazing.

We have named the class pets – Lamorna and Bedruthan class have chosen names,  and then voted for their favourites. They are called Daisy and Twilight Sparkles

and Pedro and Lily.
