Where learning is fuelled by creativity

RLS Science Fayre

3rd April 2025 in STEM Team, Year 6
Our Year 6 children had a fantastic morning at Richard Lander School, taking part in a range of exciting science activities. They began by working in teams to design and build rockets, which were then tested using a foot air pump. After that, they had the opportunity to interact with Year 7 to 9 students, including some familiar faces—former pupils of our school—who were running their own science stalls. These stalls featured hands-on experiments and fascinating science demonstrations.
To round off the morning, the children took on a creative challenge: planning how to send a spaceship on a four-year journey to Mars, considering everything it would need to survive the trip.
A huge thank you to the Science department at Richard Lander for organising such a brilliant and inspiring experience for our children! We look forward to visiting again soon.
