This week is British Science Week and we have chosen to focus on the themes of ‘Exploration’ and ‘Innovating for the future’. We will be having some assemblies this week which will celebrate the wonderful power of science, from the Mars Rover through to the ability to design and engineer vaccines!

As part of this week we are inviting to the children to have a go at some different activities (entirely optional!):

• Paper Aeroplane competition  – how far can you get yours to fly? how long can you get it to stay in the air?
• Parachute competition – can you maximise air resistance? How slowly can you drop a coin or small action figure?
• Make your own Mars Rover – follow the instructions here 
• Have a go at the ‘skittles’ experiment. All you need is a pack of skittles, a plate, water and your phone (film on time lapse). Check it out here
• Or any other activity which may capture your interest!
