Where learning is fuelled by creativity

Songfest 2023 – Congratulations to our Amazing Singers!

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to our Songfest 2023 performers who sang their socks off in the multi-school concert in Truro Cathedral yesterday!
Sing It club have been learning 8 songs over the term.  Each of the songs is about a different period of history and all the children have really enjoyed singing them.  Favourites have been a song about Tutankhamun, another about the 6 wives of Henry VIII and also a 3 part harmony song about the Vikings.  Mrs Browning has also been teaching the songs to year groups as she teaches music with each class.
Songfest is organised by ASONE Hub (our Music Education Hub) and over 100 schools take part in concerts organised all over Cornwall.  Last night, it was our singers’ turn to perform, and ten children from school, together with about 100 children from other schools in the Truro area, came together at Truro Cathedral to sing.
In the afternoon, we had our final rehearsal, led by Angela Renshaw – our first time to sing the songs with the live band! After the rehearsal, the children ate a packed tea and all received a brightly-coloured T shirt to wear for the concert.  In the first half of the concert, we listened to some solos and watched performances from choirs from all around Cornwall, sitting with the audience in the cathedral.  Then in the second half, it was time to perform!
Threemilestone Primary children shone and sang brilliantly – really rising to the occasion.
Mrs Browning is so super proud of ALL of Sing It club for what you have achieved this term – really well done.   We’ll definitely be back for more Songfest fun next year!
