We arrived at 3pm ready for the rehearsal with all the the other schools.

After working out where everyone was going to stand on the stage (we were right at the front) we rehearsed the songs with Patrick conducting.  It was great to hear and sing to the live band. 
After the rehearsal we all went to the room at the back of the cathedral and had tea and played games until it was time for the concert.  In the first half we listened to some older children singing solos.  They were very good.  Then it was our turn.  
The lights were really bright and the cathedral was full full full!  Cheered on by all of our families and friends we sang all eight of the sea shanties that we have been learning in Sing it club and school with Mrs Browning, remembering all of the words and actions.  Each school introduced a different song and Blythe introduced The Mermaid song by saying a poem about the Mermaid of Zennor.

The evening ended with us singing Wellerman.  Patrick asked the audience to join in.  It was fantastic to hear the whole cathedral singing.

We’re looking forward to next year already!
