Sam the Geologist visited years 2 and 4 this week for an immersive workshop all about rocks minerals.

The children thoroughly enjoyed thinking like scientists and getting hands on with Cornish rocks.

They had the opportunity to learn how igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks are formed and were introduced to The Rock Cycle Additionally, they became Cornish Geologists while conducting their own investigations looking closely at rocks under a magnifying glass identifying and classifying by rock type and even discovered ancient artefacts (fossils) within rocks that were up to 400million years old!!!
