A HUGE congratulations to our Threemilestone Pop-Up Primary Orchestra players for taking part in the first of this year’s multi-school orchestra sessions. Today, Ruby, Eliana, Inis, Iyla and Charlotte went with Mrs Browning to Tregolls school where they played their violins and ‘toot’ (a mini flute) in the multi-primary-school orchestra. They were joined by other players from schools in the area playing a variety of other instruments including more strings, a trumpet and clarinet.
The orchestra, conducted by Patrick Bailey, organised by Mrs Browning, and supported by ASONE Music hub, gives all children who are learning instruments in the Truro area an opportunity to come together, have fun and experience playing with others.
Some of our children (and the children from other schools) were a bit nervous about playing with others, especially as they weren’t sure what music they’d be playing, but encouraged by friends and teachers to go along, they all just went for it and, WOW! they did amazingly.
Yes, there were a few tricky bits (the music will be slightly changed to suit everyone’s needs for next time) and yes, they felt a little bit unsure – but really WELL DONE for giving something new a go! It was great to see all the giggles and smiles on the way back. Mrs Browning and all of us at TMS are really proud of them for playing.
There will be further sessions as the year goes on and, at some point, and an opportunity to share the playing of the Pop Up Primary Orchestra with all.
