The Hall for Cornwall, has just reopened following a £26,000 refurbishment.  It has been closed for 3 years.  Fisherman’s Friends the Musical is their first show and Threemilestone Primary children were the lucky ones to have the opportunity to entertain the pre-show audience, meet the cast and have a sneaky peak inside!

In lockdown, inspired by Nathan Evans singing ‘Wellerman’, we started a sea shanty group and we have been really enjoying learning and singing together in music classes with Mrs Browning.

This afternoon the children sang outside the entrance to Hall for Cornwall (on both sides of the building) entertaining the audience as they started the gather and arrive for the matinee performance in the Hall for Cornwall.    It was really brilliant to see the crowd gathering and the children really enjoyed sharing their singing with the community.

The cast of the Fisherman’s Friends musical came out and joined in with a couple of songs.  It was great to sing together and they seemed to really liked the lyrics that the children had come up with for our own version of ‘A Drop of Nelson’s Blood’ .. . .  “A plate of cheesy chips wouldn’t do us any harm!”

Both the Musical Director and the Technical Director also came to talk to us and the children enjoyed asking them questions and hearing about what work they did on the show.

A little before the show was starting the large doors opened and we got to have a sneaky peak inside the auditorium.  The children could really feel the excitement as the show was about to start and really liked seeing the size of the theatre and the stage.

Wow! What an amazing afternoon. Wonderful singing from the children and a really lovely opportunity to share our singing with all..
