A Team News

What a fantastic start to the season! Our Year 6 cohort is already setting exceptionally high standards, and Wednesday’s league fixtures at Truro Prep School proved just how strong this group is.

The A Team played two matches — first against Truro Prep and then Archbishop Benson — and showcased outstanding teamwork, determination, and skill throughout. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen weekly football victories, but this talented group of Year 6 pupils is certainly paving the way for an exciting season ahead.

Our opening match saw us go 1–0 down to Truro Prep, but the team responded brilliantly. With superb passing, movement, and communication, the goals began to flow. We finished with an impressive 6–1 victory, thanks to goals from Kobi, Wilber, TP (x2), Vikash, and Daniel. Every player contributed to a confident and connected team performance.

The second game, against Archbishop Benson, started a little slower — unsurprising after thirty minutes of high-intensity football. However, once the team found their rhythm, they secured a solid 3–0 win, with goals from TP (x2) and Vikash. Once again, the defence held strong, the midfield linked up beautifully, and teamwork remained at the heart of every move.

Player of the Match goes to TP, who not only captained the side superbly but also showed excellent composure and skill in centre midfield. His one-twos, quick triangles, great finishes, and continuous positive communication lifted the whole team.

B TEAM NEWS

3 games played for the B team and they won 2 and drew their final game against Bosvigo when the pitches had become very sticky and tiredness of playing 3 full games for all 6 boys was showing. But Ethan T & Jago both scored in that final game to make sure they were undefeated.
They won their 1st game against Truro Prep 8-0 after Jago stormed them ahead with a 1st half hat trick followed by a lovely team goal between Ethan T and Jago playing a sweeping ball in for Jake to get on the end of. Other goalscorers were Rio getting 2 including a lovely strike low and hard into the bottom corner, Ethan T muscling his way through with 1 and Cam scoring a goal but being disallowed due to the ref admitting he impeded the Truro defender. His decision was to award TMS a free kick which Cam fired in off the crossbar with venom…no one disallows a Cam goal!!
Their 2nd game was against Archbishop Benson and started early with Cam in goal booting a free kick up towards their goal and Rio flicking it into the corner with the outside of his boot! Jago then continued his form and determination by scoring another 2 goals and sealing the win.
Overall all 6 boys, Cam, Ethan T, Thiven, Jake, Rio & Jago played phenomenally in every game and played with great sportsmanship and pride for the TMS badge. I was asked to pick a player of the day for them and it was a very difficult decision as they were all so amazing together…but I think if anything credit goes to Captain Jago who led by example, encouraged and motivated his teammates, scored some amazing goals and also provided some lovely assists! But on the whole it was a complete performance by all 6 of them and they had lots of fun doing it!! Go TMS!
