In the last few weeks of term, amongst all the preparation and excitement of Christmas, our amazing staff were able to complete our very special places in school so that Miss Davies’ memory will continue to stay with us, and our school community will continue to appreciate the impact that she has had on our school and our children, for many years to come.
Our reflective garden has only been made possible through the generous donations of her friends, her family and our school community. Through designs from our children, we have captured what was so special to her: a quiet area where children can sit, read and imagine – a place where children can be kind to each other, talk and laugh together and most importantly, develop lasting friendships.
We would like to thank so many people for their contributions towards our special places – the community for their generous donations, our talented staff who not only built the seating areas and planters, but also those who made the bunting (out of very special material); staff who contributed to the design and those who supported others when things became tough. The Harry Potter theme remains strong and Mrs Murt and her loyal gardening club will ensure that our planters will never be short of beautiful flowers and herbs. Jenny Tregear’s recreation of Miss Davies’ art work is such an eye catching mural – Thank you.
A special thank you to Mrs Dobson who has worked so hard to coordinate both areas: the reflective garden and the cherry blossom tree. It has been such a challenging time in school and to pull together so many different ideas and make these spaces so, so special is really quite incredible – thank you.
We were also really pleased that Miss Davies’ family were able to join us for one of our carol services, and during this time, they were able to see for themselves, our very special places.
Beautiful. Xx
Stunning tribute to a wonderful lady x
This beautiful area and tribute to our dear Becky has given us much comfort and pride in her memory. We hope the children and staff will continue to remember her happy smile, love of life & generosity of spirit. She would be so pleased that the children have such a lovely space to use within the school. Thank you from her Mum Gail, Dad David, Brother Stuart, Partner Phil and all her extended family. xx
