The TMS TECgirls took part in an in persons build day at Mount Pleasant Eco Park in Porthtowan. They put their architectural skills to the test, building a model home from scratch, designing the layout and decorating it using recycled materials. Their home included a hammock, bean bag, bath tub and a roof garden! They then used the coding skills they’ve learnt at TECgirls club to code microbits – a light sensor for the bathroom, a LED spotlight in the bedroom, a doorbell and of course, a message saying “Welcome to the TECgirls house!” The girls did a brilliant job and have been truly inspired to learn about all of the incredible women in tech here in Cornwall. We’ve had some inspiring conversations about the future of careers in technology – who knows where it will take us?
