We now have a new resource to help support and build fluency with times tables – Times Table Rockstars!

This is predominately aimed at children in years 2 – 6 and is an online game which children will be playing in school; they can also play at home through the free app. Each child has their own individual account and avatar. They are able to give their avatar a suitable rockstar name and as they play and practice they will earn coins which they can use to buy different ‘upgrades’ for their avatar. Teachers will allocate suitable tables to practice for the children in their class and these will build throughout the year. The focus is on enjoyment and making personal progress. This resource will be supported by regular teaching and practice in the classroom.

Details about how your child can access their account at home, if they would like to, will be sent home soon and if you would like to find out more Mr Hick will be talking about this at the parent workshop on 1st October.

NEWSFLASH – We will also be having our first whole school dressing up day on October 4th, where we will be inviting all children (& staff!) to dress up as ROCKSTARS! Much of that day will be based on having fun with maths – we can’t wait!
