“Kensuke’s Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo. I love this book as it tricks you into thinking it is about a family following their dreams by selling up, buying a boat and sailing around the world (something I would love to have done with my kids!).  

In fact the story takes a surprising turn and evolves to be about the human need to survive, and ultimately a friendship between two very different people. The book takes you on a roller-coaster of emotions and the last chapters always reduce me to tears. You will have to read it to find out if the ending is a happy one …”
