We all had a fantastic INSET day, sharing our training with all our other TPAT schools.
EYFS staff attended ShREC training, gaining valuable insight into how to Share attention, Respond to, Extend, and develop Conversations within children’s communication during everyday interactions. The session strengthened our confidence in using high‑quality conversational strategies to support language development, build stronger relationships, and create more purposeful learning opportunities across the early years environment.
The rest of our staff enjoyed a brilliant TPAT Teachers’ Conference this week, with education expert Tom Sherrington leading a day full of practical ideas we can bring straight back into the classroom. After a welcome from our CEO, Dr Jen Blunden, we explored how children learn best, why they sometimes get stuck, and how small, precise teaching techniques can make a big difference. Tom shared clear, easy‑to-use strategies for modelling new learning, building vocabulary, guiding pupils step by step and helping them grow into confident, independent learners. It was an energising day that left our teachers buzzing with new approaches to support every child. And even more exciting to see Mrs Lara back with us again!
