Where learning is fuelled by creativity

TPAT Super orchestra

7th January 2026 in Creative Team
We are delighted to share an exciting new opportunity for young musicians across our trust: the launch of the TPAT Super Orchestra. This project aims to bring together pupils from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 5 to experience the excitement and pride of performing as part of a large-scale orchestral ensemble.
About the TPAT Super Orchestra
The orchestra is open to any pupil who plays an appropriate orchestral instrument—whether they learn in school or privately. We warmly encourage  all pupils who play an instrument, regardless of where or how they receive tuition.
To ensure the ensemble is inclusive, we welcome musicians of all abilities, from those who can confidently produce and sustain approximately an octave (eight notes) on their instrument through to post-Grade 8 players.
We are seeking players of:
Please note: at this stage, we are unable to accommodate electric guitars, electric basses, or keyboards.
The ensemble will work with bespoke musical arrangements written especially for them by Patrick Bailey (BBC & BSO Associate), who will also lead rehearsals and conduct the orchestra.

Rehearsals & Performances
Four rehearsals will take place once per half term from January to July, hosted at different schools around the county.
The first rehearsal is scheduled for TUESDAY 10th FEBRUARY 2026.
Rehearsals will be held during the school day. The project will culminate in a performance at the TPAT Music Showcase at the Hall for Cornwall on 6th July.
Expressions of Interest
We are currently gathering initial interest from schools. We strongly encourage you to put forward you child if they play an appropriate instrument, as this is a rare and unmissable opportunity for them to be part of a high-quality orchestral experience.
Please see Ms Teagle if you would like your child to be put forward for this exciting experience
