Where learning is fuelled by creativity

EYFS – week beginning 15th October 2018

19th October 2018 in Early Years, Uncategorized

This week we continued with our careful counting strategies and recognising numerals.

We also did lots of learning about 2D shapes – squares, circles, triangles and rectangles – we went on a shape hunt and when we found a shape we tried to remember its name and we attached pegs to each of its sides so that we learned how many sides each shape has.

We also cut out and sorted shapes and printed shapes.

Our phonics this week was super exciting – we learned m and we built models with maltesers, we cut and stuck monster munch, marshmallows and muesli and we made marmite toast. (Check out our spreading!) We even sorted money.

We also learned h – we stuck hay onto a h shape, decorated Harry the hedgehog with our hand prints, made houses for Harry and drew around our hand and practised writing the letter h.

We’ve mastered our second ‘wake and shake’ routine! Look at how much fun we had practising.

Have a fabulous week. See you back at school on Tuesday 30th October.
