Where learning is fuelled by creativity

Weekly newsletter – 17.4.20

17th April 2020 in Whole School

With the recent knowledge that we have another 3 weeks in lockdown, it is more important than ever to know … that all the staff at TMS miss our children, our school – everything! We hope that you have enough information from us you need to keep the children occupied – please keep on sharing so that we can celebrate with you!

As always, we would like to remind you that the emotional health and wellbeing of your children is paramount at this time. You are your children’s primary educators and you must decide how little and how much to engage in the learning – and what is possible in your own individual circumstances. In the next week, the teachers may give you a ring if you haven’t engaged in any learning as yet – this is just to check you are OK and we are missing you!

The Food vouchers from ‘Edenred’ are still causing problems. This is a National difficulty – the system seems to be unable to keep up with the demand. Thank you to Mr Hick, Miss Hawken and Mrs Weston who have been working really hard with families and we are just about there. Please contact the office if you are still having difficulties. You could also contact freeschoolmealsparentscarers@edenred.com. For some families who have contacted them directly, there is a response within a few hours of sending them a message, and the voucher has been re-issued.If your financial situation has changed and you would benefit from the food vouchers, please visit https://www.gov.uk/apply-free-school-meals/cornwall  to see if you are eligible.

Please take care of yourselves and do whatever you can to keep safe,

Ms Teagle

and in the words of my favourite bear:

“Piglet?” said Pooh.

“Yes Pooh?” said Piglet.

“Do you ever have days when everything feels… Not Very Okay At All? And sometimes you don’t even know why you feel Not Very Okay At All, you just know that you do.”

Piglet nodded his head sagely. “Oh yes,” said Piglet. “I definitely have those days.”

“Really?” said Pooh in surprise. “I would never have thought that. You always seem so happy and like you have got everything in life all sorted out.”

“Ah,” said Piglet. “Well here’s the thing. There are two things that you need to know, Pooh. The first thing is that even those pigs, and bears, and people, who seem to have got everything in life all sorted out… they probably haven’t. Actually, everyone has days when they feel Not Very Okay At All. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

And the second thing you need to know… is that it’s okay to feel Not Very Okay At All. It can be quite normal, in fact. And all you need to do, on those days when you feel Not Very Okay At All, is come and find me, and tell me. Don’t ever feel like you have to hide the fact you’re feeling Not Very Okay At All. Always come and tell me. Because I will always be there.
