TMS are looking forward to World Book Day on Thursday 3rd March when we are all invited to come to school dressed as a book character or to bring a prop about a favourite book. The ‘dressing up’ part of the day is secondary to the focus of the day, which is to encourage and develop a love for books and reading. Some children love dressing up – go ahead and enjoy it! For some children, this could add additional stress, which we clearly do not want. We will celebrate any efforts being made, but for others, non uniform and a prop representing a favourite book, or even bringing in the special book itself, is equally OK!
There are lots of exciting events planned for the school day including parades, quizzes, sharing our favourite books and stories with other children in the school, and a focus on other areas of learning based around our current class readers.
Look out for the photos to celebrate this event!
