On Thursday and Friday of next week (7th and 8th of November) Year 2 and Year 6 will be hosting a ‘Learning Together’ event. This event will be maths focussed and will provide you with the opportunity to join your child in their class, and take part in the learning alongside them.

At Threemilestone School, we adopt a mastery approach to our teaching and learning of maths. This involves spending longer on key topics by taking smaller steps to ensure that children acquire a deeper understanding. Joining your children in these ‘Learning Together’ lessons will allow you to experience this approach, see the methods and strategies that the children are taught, and understand how to better support them with their learning at home.

As is the case with our approach to maths on an everyday basis, Friday’s lesson will follow on from the learning that takes place on Thursday. This means that the second day will not be a repeat of the first, and coming along to both will be of great benefit to you and your children. Both lessons will take place from 9 o’clock until 9:45, and there will be an opportunity for questions and discussion afterwards.
