Y4 Edible Roman Roads!

20th September 2018 in Uncategorized, Year 4

Children investigated the way that Romans made their roads and why they lasted for so long.  Roman roads are made of layers of sand, hardcore, small stones and flagstones on top.  Our roads are made of crushed biscuits, malteasers, m&ms and custard creams with a coating of custard to act as cement.

Roman roads lasted for thousands of years but unfortunately ours didn’t even last until home time – yum!
