TMS hosted two visiting teams after school for an exciting round robin tournament, with each match played over 15 minutes each half. The girls produced a fantastic display of football across both games, showing great teamwork, determination and attacking flair.
In the first match against Tregolls, TMS started strongly and were in control throughout. The team played with confidence and moved the ball well, creating plenty of scoring opportunities. Ella Mae was in outstanding form, putting in a relentless performance in midfield and scoring an impressive 6 goals. Ella C also had a brilliant game, adding 2 goals, while Eloise contributed another well-taken goal. TMS went on to secure a convincing 9–2 victory. Tregolls worked hard and scored two goals of their own, but struggled to cope with TMS’s attacking play, particularly the impact of Ella Mae.
Player of the Match was awarded to Ella Mae for her tireless work rate, driving forward from centre midfield and contributing hugely both in attack and across the pitch.
The second game saw TMS take on St Agnes in a much tougher contest. St Agnes started brightly and took the lead, but TMS responded well with Ella Mae scoring an equaliser to bring the game level. However, St Agnes regained control and went on to win 6–1. Despite the scoreline, TMS created several chances throughout the match but were unable to convert them, with tiredness possibly playing a part in the second half. There were still strong performances across the team, with Ella C, Ella Mae and Eloise all testing the opposition goalkeeper, and Maia making a particularly strong contribution from defence with several powerful clearances and forward runs.
Player of the Match in the second game went to Maia for her excellent defensive work and positive attacking intent, consistently pushing forward while maintaining solid defensive responsibilities.
A fantastic evening of football for the TMS girls, showing great progress, teamwork and resilience throughout.
