Year 5 had a brilliant day with local artist Sophie Capron, who came to work with them for a special Cornwall-inspired Art Day.

The children kicked things off with some exciting mark making, exploring texture, movement and pattern inspired by the Cornish coastline. They really threw themselves into experimenting with different techniques and weren’t afraid to be bold and creative! Using their ideas, they then created fantastic sculptures inspired by the Cornish landscape. From rolling hills to dramatic cliffs, their imagination was incredible and each piece was completely unique. In the afternoon, the children designed and made their own tote bags using wax and paint. The results were amazing — bright, creative and full of personality!

It was such a special day. The children were resilient, enthusiastic and so artistic. They supported one another, embraced every challenge and truly shone from start to finish. Everyone at TMS would like to say a huge thank you to Sophie, and also to Ali, for giving our pupils such an inspiring and memorable experience. We loved every minute of it!
