Well, the Year 5s were certainly blessed with the weather today for their Geography fieldwork visit to Perranporth – lucky us! The children were so excited to be able to conduct surveys and complete questionnaires (that they had written and prepared) with the purpose of finding out about how local business owners feel about tourism. Once the children had completed their surveys, it was time for some fieldwork sketching of geographical features on the coastline.
The children were able to recognise cracks / fissures in the cliffs, arches, caves and sand dunes. We were so impressed by the children’s enthusiasm for their Geography learning this term on the links between our coastline and tourism.
