Year 2 have got a very exciting update about our current science learning! Last week, we observed that our caterpillars had moved into the next stage of their life cycle and turned into pupa and they have now been in the hatching habitat for nearly a week. This week, four of the butterflies hatched from their pupa and have been fluttering around and feasting on nectar from the sugar water, flowers and fruit we have been giving them. We were delighted to learn that this meant they were ready to be released into the wild and we watched as Mrs Beckett carefully helped them onto the plants and flowers in the TMS garden. It’s exciting to know that our very own butterflies will go on to continue the life cycle and create more painted lady butterflies in the future!
