Year 2 had a truly delightful day welcoming our special visitors from Cornish Hospitality, who guided us through an exciting hands‑on baking session which perfectly rounded off our DT: Cooking and Nutrition unit. The children have been carefully researching (and tasting) existing products, practising manipulating skills and designing their own Cornish scones. With aprons on and enthusiasm high, the children worked in small teams to create their very own Cornish scones—choosing between plain, raisin, or cheese.
The classroom buzzed as the children mixed, shaped and prepared their dough – showing wonderful teamwork and plenty of laughter. Thee children did a fantastic job, from sharing ingredients to helping one another to weigh, rubbing in and mixing the ingredients with our visitors, before shaping their scones ready for baking.
A huge thank you to our visitors for giving their time, expertise, and enthusiasm. It was a brilliant experience and one the children have been talking about ever since!
