This week, year 5 took two days away from ‘normal lessons’ to take part in the Playmaker award. The award looks at building leadership qualities in young learners to give them confidence to lead groups of their peers in sports, games and more. We are so proud of how all of the year group responded to this – taking it in turn to lead lessons, plan activities and deliver really enjoyable sessions. All of the children shocked themselves at how confident, by the end of the 2 days, they had become at standing in front of everyone and leading groups.
They all now have their provisional playmaker license and are now ready (when Covid allows) to take younger year groups for sports and activity sessions to earn their awards.
We could well be out of a job soon with these quality leaders coming through!!
Thank you all year 5s for an amazing 2 days
Mr Rutterford and Mr Wake
