Where learning is fuelled by creativity

Year 6 – Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service

12th February 2025 in Our Community, Year 6
On Wednesday afternoon, Year 6 were lucky enough to have a visit from Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service to talk about road safety.
We learnt about how we see – with both our eyes and our brain – and the importance of taking in all of our surroundings. Our powers of observation were tested and our eyes were deceived by some optical illusions!
We talked about what to be aware of when crossing the road and about what makes a safe place to cross – really important life-skills for keeping us – and others – safe.
At the end of the session, the fire fighters gave everyone an opportunity to ask questions, which meant that we also learnt some more about the life of a fire fighter, and how you might become a fire fighter!
Many thanks to Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service for taking the time to come in to give such a fun and useful presentation!
